The works are an inquiry concerning an anatomy and a philosophy with a skeptical approach, he deals with radical themes such as the essence of things and human existence, while also expressing the relationships between things that can be inferred from a self-referential aspect.
In recent years, he has studied Zen at a temple in Kyoto and has also held solo exhibitions at Komyoin temple. Through the gaze of people, he expresses in his dry-lacquer sculptures the blurring and interpenetration of the boundaries between opposing things, such as substance and essence, mass and vacuity, interiority and exteriority.
